Any registered voter living within the city limits of Presho, Kennebec or Reliance is eligible to file a nominating petition for a position on their respective town board or city council before the February 23, 2018 deadline.
Presho has three seats on the six person council up for election in 2018. All vacancies are for 2-year terms.
In Ward I the seat currently held by Bill Lengkeek is up this year. The seat held by Marchelle Carson in Ward II and the chair held by Angela Ehlers representing voters in Ward III is also up for election.
If you have questions regarding ward boundaries please contact the Presho City Office at 895-2337. If you have changed residences within the city limits of Presho, you may need to change your physical address with the clerk.
The town of Kennebec is governed by a town board consisting of five trustees. The seats currently held by Michelle Langenbau and Rod Bowar, both 3-year terms, are up for election this year.
Reliance has a three-person board with an elected president. The seat held by Brandon Bacon, a 3-year term, is up for election in 2018.
Nominating petitions may be picked up at the local finance office in each town and must be completed and filed no later than 5:00 pm Friday, February 23, 2018.
If more petitions are filed than there are seats open, all city or town elections will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2018.
