A week ago Saturday Teresa Longville taught a First Responder Class in Mitchell.

Wednesday visitors in the Ethel Riggs home were Sandra Schmidt, Vivian, and Kristi Schmidt and son Jeremy Dale, Pierre.

January 10-11, 2004, Curly and Josie Schoenfelder were in Parkston to attend the baptism rites of Lindsey Ann, daughter of Reno and Barb Roth, at Sacred Heart Parish with Father Bob Krantz officiating. Godparents were Brian and Melody Hohn and Dan and Cindy Roth. The rites were held on Sunday January 11th. Later Reno and Barb Roth and Brittany and Nikki Beckett hosted dinner for Reno's family: grandpa Willie Roth; Dan and Cindy Roth and girls; Reno's sister Diane and Sandy and family and for Dennis, Margie and Tatum Streitz and RaKel Streitz, Mankato, Minnesota; Brian, Melody, Ryan, Tanner and Kyle Hohn; Eric Schoenfelder; Father Bob Krantz and grandparents Curly and Josie.

A short time ago Teresa and Todd Longville, Jake and Jenny hosted a party honoring Mandy's 18th birthday. She was joined by a group of friends.

Five Senior Citizens met at the Senior Center at 12:30 P.M. Friday, January 16, 2004. A card was sent to Vickie King. Bingo was played with first Bingo and blackout bingo won by Marie Houchin. A surprise lunch was served. Next Friday Gladys will be hostess. Later a community meeting was held with a representative of Senator Daschle's Rapid City Office, meeting with the group to bring messages back to the office and answer questions of the group. Refreshments were served. The Lyman County Farmers Union hosts the coffee.

A group of friends met at the Todd and Teresa Longville home New Year's Eve for a party, they enjoyed playing cards.

Erica Halverson, Sioux Falls, spent last Friday until Tuesday in the parental Doug and Kate Halverson home and visited friends and relatives.

Steve and Jessica Manger were visitors and dinner guests in the parental Don and Sony Manger home Sunday.

Catherine Peterson, accompanied by Darrell Gruenwald, Chamberlain, and Alice Gruenwald, drove to Reliance Sunday forenoon where she helped with serving at the UMC Soup, Sandwich and Dessert luncheon.

Don and Carmen Miller hosted Sunday supper for Doug and Kate Halverson; Erica Halverson, Sioux Falls; Susan Moen, Rapid City; Ashley Moen, Sioux Falls, and other family members to honor Doug's birthday. Susan Moen, Rapid City, spent Friday until Monday in the Doug and Kate Halverson home.

June Halverson, Meta Halverson and girls and Connie Halverson and girls, Pierre, were among the 16 guests invited to the 8th birthday party honoring Jacey Jessop, at the Ramkota Inn, Pierre, Saturday Jeff, Harla and Jaden hosted the party, with refreshments, at the swimming pool.

Barb DeJong visited grandma Gladys Manger Tuesday and Thursday mornings last week.

Teresa Hamer was a Saturday dinner guest and visitor in the parental Catherine Peterson home.

Ed and Grace Steifvator spent Friday, January 9th, in Rapid City, where they attended the 40th birthday party honoring Dalene Hansen Friday evening.

Friday morning Grace visited with her grandson, Justin Steifvator, at Wal-Mart. Saturday morning she visited over breakfast with her daughter, Brenda Steifvator. Last Tuesday Ed and Grace Steifvator attended the memorial services for Bertha Walston, Rapid City, and also visited with family members.

Wendell and Ardene Gilman attended the graveside rites of Bertha Walston, last Tuesday.

Thursday evening Ed and Grace Steifvator visited in the Rollie, Denise, Jared and Courtney Anderson home.

Wendell and Ardene Gilman were in Chamberlain Saturday. Ardene visited Lula Reckling. They both had taught at Chamberlain.

Susan Hamer visited Grace Steifvator Friday afternoon.

Rod and Wendy Peterson, Pukwana, were Sunday afternoon visitors in the parental Wendell and Ardene Gilman home. Later they all ate supper at the Golden Buffalo Cafe.
