[b]Presho Centennial Committee sponsors 4th of July picnic[/b]

Many local residents observed the Independence holiday Sunday, July 4 by attending the Presho Centennial Committee picnic in the Presho City Park and watching the fireworks display that followed at dusk.

The Presho Centennial Committee kicked off a 12-month count down to the July 2, 3, & 4, 2005 Centennial Celebration Sunday evening with a cook out at the Presho City Park.

[b]Vivian featured in South Dakota Magazine[/b]

In South Dakota, you don't necessarily judge a town by how many people live there, or by how many businesses you find on main street. Each community is unique, its history colorful, its people the repository of stories you couldn't hear anywhere else. Last year South Dakota Magazine invited its readers to send in stories about their favorite towns with population under 100. Vivian is among the towns featured in "Tiny Towns" in the July/August issue of South Dakota Magazine.

[b]Deadline for submitting birthdays for community calendar approaching[/b]

The Presho Area Chamber is collecting birth dates for a new community birthday calendar that will be available for sale in August. The calendar will coincide with the school year running from September 2004 to August 2005.
Please submit birth dates and standing meeting dates of your organization for publication in the calendar as soon as possible. Contact Angela Ehlers at 895-2673 or 895-4099, Lucy Halverson at 895-6397, or Dianna Urban at 895-2589.
